Mastodon has been known by their fans for many years now as innovators in an industry which is in much need of new-blood. “Curl of The Burl’ was released recently by the Atlanta progressive Metal band and it is now able to be streamed via mainly online sources, which can be found with a simple search. The track is one of several face-melting anthems from the new album, entitled “The Hunter.’ The album will be released in a variety of different configurations, all of which will feature an interactive 3d experience which is being referred to as “Augmented Reality.’ This new technology was created by a Los Angeles-based design company and combines the thrill of virtual worlds and the complete immersion of reality, creating a new and exciting experience for Mastodon-s fans. Users of a special program can literally use a camera to include their own face onto the CD Art in a software interface to turn themselves into a sculpture of “The Hunter,’ who appears on the front cover of the album.
It is important to note that several tracks from the album, including “Black Tongue’ have already made it onto the air-waves, however, “Curl of the Burl’ has been declared the official single and is now available for purchase through many online sources. A music video for the track is being filmed and other plans are currently in the works.
